Kansas Concealed Carry Class

The Kansas Concealed Carry class is a mandatory 8 hour safety and training class for most individuals who apply to obtain their concealed carry license in the State of Kansas. As of July 1st, 2015, the law changed, allowing any resident of the State of Kansas, who can legally purchase and possess a firearm, to carry a concealed handgun. However, the concealed carry licensing will still be offered throughout the state for various reasons:

- Avoid severe criminal charges while traveling to other states that recognize Kansas' concealed carry licenses

- Avoid severe criminal charges while traveling within a school zone (18 USC 922(q))

- Avoid lengthy delays when purchasing a new or used firearm from an FFL dealer

- Avoid harassment from law enforcement

Effective July 1st, 2022, Kansas passed a law, stating that anyone 18, 19 or 20 years old, who is not prohibited by State or Federal law from possessing a firearm, can legally carry a concealed handgun, on their person WITH a Provisional Concealed Carry License, approved by the Kansas Attorney General's Office. Without this license, it is unlawful to carry a concealed handgun without a Provisional Concealed Carry License, under 21 years of age, however, open carrying is legal, under 21 years of age. This DOES NOT change the age of purchasing a handgun in Kansas from 21 years of age.

In the Kansas Concealed Carry class, we will discuss:

- Kansas self-defense statutes

- Use of Force / Use of Deadly Force

- Use of Force / Deadly Force in defense of a person

- Use of Force / Deadly Force in defense of a dwelling, place of work or occupied

- Use of Force in defense of property other than a dwelling

- Assault / Aggravated Assault

- Battery / Aggravated Battery

- Domestic Battery

- Interaction with Law Enforcement

- and more.
